Alexis & Rudy’s Wedding at The Jack Guenther Pavilion

Every now and then, a wedding comes along that reminds me exactly why I love what I do — and Alexis & Rudy’s celebration at the Jack Guenther Pavilion at the Briscoe Museum was that wedding. Hands down one of the most fun weddings I’ve done in a MINUTE. This couple and their guests lived on the dance floor. I’m talking ALL. NIGHT. LONG.

Even better? Alexis & Rudy had already been married for a year after a private courthouse ceremony — this was their big, long-awaited celebration with all their people. And ohhhh, did they show up ready to party.

Getting Ready, Riverwalk Romance & Marriage Island Vows

Alexis and Rudy started their day next door at Hotel Contessa, keeping things relaxed and stress-free before we moved into their private first look and vows on the iconic Marriage Island — the little heart-shaped island on the San Antonio Riverwalk. It couldn’t be more fitting for these two.

Personal Details That Made This Wedding Them

This entire day had their fingerprints all over it, starting with:

  • Signature cocktail named after their dog, Richie (a literal teddy bear of a pup)

  • Custom cookies featuring Richie and edible photos of the couple

  • A mosaic welcome sign handmade by the bride’s boss — now displayed in their home

  • All guests wore black, while Alexis & Rudy were the only two in white

  • Bridesmaids = her “something blue” (obsessed)

Those personal touches? They made the whole day feel warm, stylish, and incredibly intentional.

Let’s Talk About The Florals… Because WOW

Okay… I am a known hater of fake flowers. I stand by it.
BUT LISTEN.
The ceremony florals from Flowerscapes completely floored me.

These faux florals had texture, layers, thorns — you could get inches away and still think they were real. The floral pedestals and aisle flowers created such an elegant moment, and we repurposed them behind the sweetheart table and around the cake table for the reception.

And they photographed beautifully. Consider me officially impressed.

The table florals were real — moody, candlelit, and perfect for the October vibe.

A Dance Floor That Made the Room

Alexis had one non-negotiable: a checkered dance floor.
And she was absolutely right — details like dance floor patterns, custom monograms, or bold colors elevate the entire space instantly.

Once the cake was cut, Alexis changed into her second dress… and that’s when the real dancing started. The photos say it all. This crowd did not miss.

Add a DJ, photobooth, and cold sparks from Toast Entertainment?
Electric.

Cocktail Hour on the Riverwalk & A Vendor Team That SLAYED

Guests enjoyed an elegant cocktail hour overlooking the Riverwalk with live music from Mariachi Alma de San Antonio — truly the perfect San Antonio wedding vibe.

This vendor team was a dream:

  • Elijah from Mayfields Photography was incredibly kind & effortless to work with

  • Robby from the venue was beyond helpful

  • Honey Love Content captured everything — small moments, big reactions, and all the magic — and sent content the next day (she’s not a videographer replacement, but she is SUCH a good add-on)

And Spice of Life handled catering and bar service flawlessly as always.

A Wedding That Exuded Pure Coolness

Everything about this day felt chic, modern, elevated, and just straight-up cool.
Alexis & Rudy radiate effortless coolness, and their wedding followed suit in every detail — from the all-black guest dress code to the riverfront vows to the dance floor chaos that lasted until the very end.

It was an honor to bring this celebration to life. If every wedding could be this fun, joyful, stylish, and full of personality… I’d never get tired.
